The number of options available in the Info dialog have been increased and you can now enter a multi-line description that will appear in blue under the task item name. With descriptions you can add details to the task without having to create additional supplemental tasks.
There have been quite a few new shared lists added recently including some useful ones on wedding planning such as Wedding Reception Planning, Brides Wedding Checklist, Plan Your Own Wedding, and Simple Wedding Checklist. You can find more in the Wedding Checklist project. Clone a list into your own account and you can easily add items and modify existing tasks. Then share your updated list with others!
Hope you made a list of New Years Resolutions in SocialTDL. You'll be able to track them all year long! You should give all items on that list have a high point value (like 50) so you get full credit when you achieve them.
In the right column, you may have noticed the new 'mountain' Progress Indicator. The red line shows how far up you've climbed the mountain. Each time you complete an item, the points help you climb higher.
To provide a little incentive, the blue line on the chart shows the score of another SocialTDL user as the day progresses. This competitor has been selected from users who generally earn around 200 points a day, so there shouldn't be many days when your competitor logs very few points. Since I activated this feature for testing, my competitor has helped me accomplish a lot of things. I try to stay in front of him/her as the day progresses. Hope you find this feature equally as beneficial.
You can now set a task priority in the info dialog to a value between 1 and 9, making simple task management easier. The default priority is 9 (low priority). On the New Year Resolutions screen, the list of completed items can be sorte by priority so you can see the most important things you accomplished this year!
The info dialog has been improved to present information better and the description field can now be resized for larger text input.
In the item info editing dialog (accessed by clicking on the little i icon), you can now change the point value for a particular task. It can be set to any value between 1 and 50. That way you can set the items that are much harder or more important to higher score values.
Also, when you created a new item and refreshed the list, it would move to the top of the list. Now it properly remains at the end of the list.
Drag and drop list reordering has been added. You can now reorder your lists without having to open the ordering window.
Also, the All list box selection shows all uncompleted items on all lists. Now the item includes the list where the item is located in parentheses. So a list item in the All list display might look like this Mayo (Shopping List) so you can easily get to that list.
Additionally, several display bugs with list selection have been corrected. The list system has also been optimized to be more responsive.
I find that when we're in the merry season, it is the most fun to dream of things to accomplish in the next year. Don't look at your New Year as things that you need to correct. It should be an opportunity to do great things.
SocialTDL can help you make this a reality! Not only can you start lists on the web, you can enter resolutions on your smart phone when things come to mind. Invest 2 minutes a day, each day before the holiday season and you'll be all set to start the new season with a bang!
Tis the season to be shopping! I've created my main Christmas list on SocialTDL and all of the sublists that help me keep track of things. I've even made a list of Christmas carols I like best.
Like everyone, I want to make sure I focus on the important things for the holiday season and not the gift giving pressures. To simplify things, every time I go to the store, I just access the mobile version of SocialTDL to keep things simple and I'm procrastinating much less then last year (it doesn't look like I'll be shopping on Christmas Eve lol).
I shared the Christmas list with my family so we wouldn't buy the same things. When I make a Christmas list, I try to make the thought count instead of the price. This year, I want my each Christmas gift to be special. For better or worse, I will buy a $3 gift if I think that is what is secretly on the Christmas wish list.
Since telling every friend and relative to use Social ToDo List, I already have a billion suggestions for new features. Probably over the Christmas vacation. Just hope I have time to hunt down those after holiday deals
You can create a new list by clicking on the Plus icon next to the list menu, enter a list name, and add a task to that list.
While this is simple, I wonder if it is confusing, especially since it doesn't change the list automatically. Let me know what you think.
Curses! Foiled again! Made a lot of changes to list selection, but it still kinda sucks. The All list should tell what list the item contains and creating a new list should be displayed. Too late to implement tonight, but we'll try for the next push.
Corrected the bug of week and day points being reversed. Also optimized some of the query routines.
SocialTDL has taken another large step into the world of Social Integration by adding a Facebook App. You can get to the SocialTDL Facebook App here or searching on Facebook. You can easily link your to-do list by using the same email address or link it to your Facebook account.
Include your to-do lists in your Facebook world and bring all of your progress together.

You can now begin to personalize your SocialTDL experience. In the top right corner next to the points display, the Settings button will display all of the available user preferences
Right now, there are only a handful of available options including the ability to customize your display name or set the background color to randomize, but the list will rapidly expand in the future.
There were some problems with creating new lists that are now resolved. You can create a list with almost any name and it will work. Placing tasks on the right list can really help keep you organizated.
I keep 3 or 4 shopping lists that I have shared with my wife on SocialTDL. Both of us add items to the lists during the week. When it's time to go to the store, we use our smart phones to access the mobile version of SocialTDL and work through the list. Pretty good way to stop forgetting things and having those 'Darn! I forgot...' moments on the way home from the store.
When I first created SocialTDL, I wanted an application that would do more than just track tasks and items. I wanted something that ENCOURAGED you to accomplish things. Part of that was a quick entry system where you could record things fast and complete them fast so I could feel myself moving forward.
After the recent speed improvements, SocialTDL is now certainly FAST. Next up -- the encouragement part. With more daily users coming on board and more things completed, I think SocialTDL is starting to become a force of change in people's lives. It certainly has for me.
You can now associate your lists with an email address so you can access your lists from multiple browsers and even your smart phone. This feature is especially useful if you want to use the same lists across mutiple machines or even multiple browsers.
By linking lists to your email address, you know you will never loose your projects or lists to a browser cookie flush.
